…In the words of Jesus: Watch and pray…  He lived it and taught… in the Lord’s prayer as well:

“And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”  Matthew 6:13 nkjv

May we not forgot that prayer is a God-sent way to protect us from temptation. Pray first, pray through [all the way through], and pray after.  Prayer is a blessing, and a God-sent way to overcome, to prepare and to strengthen us.

In secret and in public, things vie for our heart, attention and time… from blatant sin to laxity… But Jesus offered a weapon ahead of time, a preparation to build us up in spirit… Pray.

He Himself did it while the others slept in gethsemane.  Let’s pray for our families and others around to be kept awake, and resist the temptations that come daily, hourly and regularly in the world we are in.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man… 1 Cor. 10:13 nkjv.
There is strength and power in God’s way… to pray through the situations of the day, ahead of time!  And of course, if needed, find an accountability partner as well- for temptation as well as our prayer commitment!  We all need them!  “As iron sharpens iron…”

One final thing, some have shared how adding fasting to prayer, accountability and other things has been the straw that broke the camel’s back of some addictions.

Let’s be earnest in prayer…and also for awakening!
