Step One: Read and Get an Understanding

The central theme of the Bible is God’s love for you and for all people. This love was revealed when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came into the world as a human being, lived a sinless life, died on the cross, and rose from the dead. Because Christ died, your sins can be forgiven, and because He conquered death you can have eternal life. You can know for sure what will become of you after you die.

To become a Christian it is important not only to understand and agree with Christian beliefs, but also to rely on these things for your life and salvation. We must put into practice what we believe by forgiving others and by living a life free from corruption.

You have probably heard the story of God’s love referred to as the “Gospel.” The word Gospel simply means “Good News.” The Gospel is the Good News that, because of what Christ has done; we can be forgiven and can live forever.

But this gift of forgiveness and eternal life cannot be yours unless you willingly accept it. God requires an individual response from you.

Easy Steps to Becoming a Christian

Step Two: Realize, Repent, Request and Receive

Realize that you have sinned against God.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

Repent of your sins.
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out” (Acts 3:19)

Request God to save you through Jesus Christ.
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.
“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12)

Repeat this Prayer

Step Three: Say the Prayer of Salvation

Lord, I stand before you a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sin. I believe God raised you from the dead. I am asking you to come into my heart and save me. I accept you into my heart as my personal Savior. Thank you Lord for saving me-Amen

“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
