Anti-Zionist Newspaper Haaretz Attacks AFDI anti-BDS Campaign: “Moving on from attacking Islam, Pamela Geller sponsors NYC bus ads against NIF”
Well, how did you think the radical leftist Haaretz would respond? The anti-Zionist Israeli newspaper attacks AFDI’s new campaign exposing the perfidy of the New Israel Fund and their donors. It is important to point out that Haaretz is in bed with the BDS-supporting New Israel Fund. Several politicians backed out of a conference run by Haaretz because of NIF’s co-sponsorship, prompting the publisher of Haaretz to print a two-page spread praising NIF’s work.
Nuff said.
The response by UJA President Alisa Doctoroff and Carole Zabar is as weak and shallow as their thinking — if only their giving were as light. Doctoroff says, “The divisiveness is unhelpful.” No, Alisa, the funding of NIF is unhelpful. Doctoroff goes on to say, “It uses time, resources and energy that could be used in positive ways.” I couldn’t agree more with this foolish woman, for completely different reasons. It is incumbent upon her to do the right thing and do due diligence on where exactly her funding is going. Doctoroff wants us to focus on the good work she does. I am sure she is well-intentioned. The road to hell is paved with good intentions.
These “do-gooders” must consider the damage they are doing to the tiny state of Israel. Other good work doesn’t cancel out the bad.
Hitler was good to his dog. Does that make him less of a monster?
These silly women know that NIF is a notorious anti-Israel organization undermining Israel’s security in the most noxious and insidious ways. So why continue to fund them? Do they ever bother to think? Err on the side of caution, women, not on the side of Jew-haters.
Carole Zabar, the ridiculous wife of a co-owner of the landmark Upper West Side gourmet food store Zabar’s, said: “I consider these people to be pesky flies.” This useful idiot is calling me a fly. Read this.
JP: Carole Zabar is the wife of one of the brothers who currently owns Zabar’s. And Carole is a strong supporter of the band of economic warriors who have just declared war on her husband’s livelihood.
Richard Allen, founder of JCC Watch, reminds us that for many years in her position as a director of the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, Zabar has been”hosting and promoting groups that call for a boycott of SodaStream, Ahava Cosmetic products and other Israeli companies.”
Allen says he believes that Zabar used to be listed as a major contributor of Partners for a Progressive Israel, one of the organizations best known for pushing the SodaStream boycott. She certainly partnered with that group in her role as founder of the “Other Israeli Film Festival,” the one that not only seeks to showcase Arabs in Israel, but frequently promotes the worst slanders against the Jewish State.
“Moving on from attacking Islam, Pamela Geller sponsors N.Y.C. bus ads against New Israel Fund donors,” Haaretz, By Debra Nussbaum Cohen | Mar. 11, 2015 |
‘These leaders are 21st-century kapos, but worse,’ writes the controversial New Yorker behind the American Freedom Defense Initiative.
NEW YORK — Pamela Geller, the controversial New Yorker who has attacked Islam in public transit system ads in cities across the United States and been barred from entering the United Kingdom, is now turning her attention to the New Israel Fund and some of its most prominent donors.
Geller and her organization, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, are launching a month-long campaign of ads on the sides of New York City buses. Naming individual New Israel Fund donors on each ad, they say, for example, “Alisa Doctoroff Funds New Israel Fund’s (BDS) Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions. STOP THE JEWISH DESTRUCTION OF ISRAEL.” At the bottom, under the logo of Geller’s organization and in slightly smaller letters, is the hashtag #Jewicidal.
The American Freedom Defense Initiative is spending $100,000 on the campaign, Geller told Haaretz in an interview.
“We must shame these philanthropists who fund BDS groups — particularly the New Israel Fund,” Geller writes on her website. “An intense public campaign has begun. We will continue to demand that any American Jew who supports the New Israel Fund withdraw such funding. The New Israel Fund must be ostracized by the Jewish community,” Geller writes on her website. “These leaders are 21st-century kapos, but worse. These silver spoon dilettantes don’t have a gun to their heads; it’s voluntary, and they mean to take us all down. They’ll talk about plurality and diversity of thought, but they don’t welcome me… or any other fiercely proud Jews. They are leftists aligned with the jihad force.”
New Israel Fund spokeswoman Naomi Paiss said the organization opposes BDS and has survived multiple similar efforts to smear its reputation. “Not only do things like this not damage NIF, we just had our two best fundraising years ever,” she said.
