Challenge media bias. It seems the media continually portrays Israel as “the bad guy” by leaving out important facts, events, and ideology of Israel’s enemies. Counter this biased influence by writing letters to the editor, commenting on articles, and social media posts. Always remember to do so respectfully, “speaking the truth in love,” as the Bible commands us.
Buy Israeli products and services. There is currently a widespread movement, called BDS, which calls for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions to be imposed against Israel. Counter this effort by seeking out and purchasing Israeli products and services.
Oppose anti-Semitism. Anti-Semitism can also be subtle. Every effort to reaffirm that Jewish People are God’s Chosen and to address prejudice against them is important. However, in today’s environment, it’s amazing how quickly controversial conversations can deteriorate into an ugly verbal brawl. As we support Jewish People and Israel, we always want to be careful to represent God well.
Speak out and educate. Educate your family and friends with the truth of such Scriptures as Genesis 12, Genesis 17, 1 Chronicles 16:17, Romans 11, and Romans 1:16. Educate others about the facts and history not told in mainstream media news.
Ask your government to stand with Israel. Let your voice be heard by those who govern. Write, email, or phone your legislators, senators, and top officials and let them know you want your government to support Israel.
Financial support of organizations that minister in Israel. Many Jewish People have immigrated to Israel out of a longing for their spiritual homeland and a better life than they had in deprived conditions in countries such as Russia, Germany, and Africa. Often, once in Israel, they discover it much more difficult to grasp those dreams of a better life than they realized. Language barriers, cultural assimilation, educational gaps, and much more tend to limit the opportunities for rising out of poverty. At Jewish Voice we are pleased to partner with over two dozen ministries on the ground in Israel who reach out to serve these people. They minister to both physical and spiritual needs, sharing the love and Good News of Yeshua.
And most importantly, PRAY. As a “watchman on the wall,” one of the most important things you can do is pray. As God’s Chosen People, Israel is precious in His sight. He tells us to pray for all people and specifically to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for His People. Devoted, targeted, and fervent prayer is the most powerful resource we have when it comes to helping Israel. Visit our blog where we update you on current events in Israel. At the end of many of our blog posts are suggestions for specific ways to pray for Israel. We also have a Pray For Israel blog page that we hope will encourage you in your prayers according to Psalm 122:6. Pray for Jewish People everywhere and for all of Israel to come to know the Prince of Peace Himself and gain eternal life through faith in Yeshua.
