Obama supporters of “The Most Pro-Israel Administration Ever” today celebrated its Supreme Court victory over Menachem Zivotofsky, a 12-year-old boy born in Jerusalem who wanted to have his place of birth registered.

The administration insisted that Jerusalem is not in Israel. Sotomayor accused him of asking Obama to lie.

Justice Sonia Sotomayor used strong language in support of the administration’s position. Congress and the Zivotofskys are “asking the government to lie,” Sotomayor said.

When Alyza Lewin, the family’s lawyer, protested, Sotomayor said, “How could you tell me it’s not a lie? You, the United States, are being asked to put on the passport that you believe the place of birth of this individual is Israel, and … the executive has said, no, we don’t think it was Israel, we think it was Jerusalem.”

Talk about wise.

Anyway Obama got his way. The Jewish boy didn’t.

A Congressional law recognizing that people who are born in Jerusalem are born in Israel has been struck down by a Supreme Court too cowardly to challenge Obama.

And “The Most Pro-Israel Administration Ever” notches up another win over Israel and Jews.
