Easter Cookie Recipe for all ages to explain Resurrection

Scripture: Matthew 28:5-6
“The angel answered and said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.’” NKJV
The following recipe was found deep within the ccm “Future cdd” file. Not sure where it came from, but Pastor Carol and I took the time to bake the cookies. We recommend the recipe for all ages to creatively explain the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Suggestion: (Make the evening before Easter)
Required Items:
Bible
Wax Paper
Cookie Sheet
Zipper baggie
Wooden spoon
One pinch salt
One Cup sugar
No residue tape
Three egg whites
One Teaspoon vinegar
One Cup whole pecans
PREHEAT oven to 300 degrees.
Place pecans in zipper baggie and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested, He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. (Read John 19:1-3)
Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 teaspoon vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the Cross, he was given vinegar to drink. (Read John 19:28-30)
Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. (Read John 10:10-11)
Sprinkle a little salt into each child’s hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus’ followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. (Read Luke 23:27)
So far, the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the narrative is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. (Read Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16)
Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God’s eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. (Read Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3)
Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoon (smaller is better) onto wax paper covered cookie sheet. Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus’ body was laid. (Read Matthew 27:57-60)
Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.
Give each child a piece of Heat resistant tape and seal the oven door. Explain that Jesus’ tomb was sealed. (Read Matthew 27:65-66)
GO TO BED! Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus’ followers were sad when the tomb was sealed. (Read John 16:20 and 16:22)
On Easter morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! Explain that on the first Easter Jesus’ followers were amazed to find the tomb open and empty. (Read Matthew 28:1-9)
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Prayer: Father thank you for creative ways to share what Jesus did for us with as many people as possible. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

Shalom from London, England! Today I have been released from my prison cell! However, it is only a parole. They have already warned me that if I release another non-fiction book in the future, they will be forced to lock me up once again for four days with only a chair, an iPad, and a microphone.

The positive that has come out of my time reading the audio version of Revealing Revelation is that it reminded me just how amazing the book is. And by “the book”, I am referring to the Book of Revelation! God’s amazing love, grace, and justice burst forth from the pages. It is a book of glory and majesty. It is a heavenly hymnal filled with spontaneous outbursts of angelic and saintly praise. It is a harsh reminder of God’s perfect power, and that sin really matters. It is a promise of eternity given with just a glimpse behind the curtain at what awaits those who have given their lives to Christ and those who haven’t.

I cannot wait for Revealing Revelation to be released on May 3. In it readers will find easy access to the truth that God has beautifully communicated in the final book of Scripture. The door will also be opened wide to the blessings that the apostle John promised in Revelation 1 to every person who reads, hears, and keeps the words of this apocalyptic prophecy. Revealing Revelation is truly the most important book that I have ever written.

Revelation 1:1-3
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.

The Middle East
Waves of terror have been sweeping the streets of Israel. Three attacks in just the last week have left 11 dead. All the safety that had been established under former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been lost due to the appeasement policies of this new government and the weakness of the new U.S. administration. If you want to hear more of my take on this, watch my short Breaking News Update from yesterday.

It appears that the Israeli government finally recognizes that there is a serious problem. Yesterday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that if you have a license to bear arms, then you should be carrying your gun. Not surprisingly, the number of civilians applying for gun permits has skyrocketed in the past 24 hours.

What is the underlying reason for this violence? According to the Israeli government, it has a lot to do with the belief by many Muslims that Israel will cease to exist by July 8, 2022. This is based on calculations by an Islamic cleric based on passages from the Koran. If you would like more of an explanation of this, please check out my back-to-back posts on Telegram.

Once again, Palestinians in Gaza passed out candies and treats to one another to celebrate the brutal deaths of innocent Israelis. That kind of evil put me in mind of how the world will react during the Tribulation when the Two Witnesses are killed in Jerusalem. The apostle John writes, “And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation 11:10) Two of those whose deaths those in Gaza were celebrating were Ukrainians.

In more evidence of the ineptitude of the new Israeli government of change, on Tuesday the country’s defense minister visited the King of Jordan in his palace. Then yesterday, the Israeli president did the same thing. However, on Monday when King Abdullah II of Jordan went to visit the President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, he met with no Israelis at all. This was despite the fact that he was a ten-minute drive from Jerusalem. It is obvious who has the upper hand in that relationship. A recent poll showed that should the election be held today, Netanyahu’s party would get 36 seats in the Knesset; Bennett’s would get 4.

A summit was held in Israel on Monday that would have been unheard of before the Abraham Accords. Top diplomats from Bahrain, UAE, Morocco, and Egypt, along with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, met with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid at a retreat in Israel’s Negev desert to discus Iran’s nuclear program. A social media account used by the IRGC quickly posted a threat to destroy all the capitals of the Arab countries who attended. This is the same Iranian military that the US is considering removing from their list of terror organizations.

Russia has warned Israel that its strikes in Syria are escalating tensions. They claim that Israel’s military is intentionally “provoking” Russia to react. There is a concern among many that Putin could use this situation as a pretext to attack Israel.

For my latest analysis of the Russia/Ukraine War, please take time to watch the special update, “What’s Next in the Ukraine War: 5 Possible Scenarios”. In it I touch on where things stand now. Then I do a detailed breakdown of the five potential directions that this conflict will go. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is hosting mediation in Turkey this week for Russia and Ukraine. While I certainly wish him great success, I am still going to pause a moment so you can join me in appreciating the irony of a man like Erdogan mediating peace.

The next flashpoint in eastern Europe could come in the breakaway Republic of South Ossetia, which declared its independence from Georgia in 2008. President Anatoly Bibilov has begun the process to legally become part of the Russian Federation. The problem comes with the fact that only five countries recognize the breakaway state – Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru, and Syria. While Georgia is not part of NATO, it enjoys strong relations with the organization and has been tapped for future inclusion.

At least seven busloads of Russian soldiers are being treated for acute radiation syndrome today after driving unprotected through radiation hot zones surrounding Chernobyl. Ukrainian workers at the site are not surprised saying that the lack of precautions by the Russians since they took over the site has been “suicidal”.

One concerning consequence of the eastern European conflict is that gas flow through the Ukrainian Yamal-Europe pipeline has dropped to zero. Meanwhile, Germany is considering declaring a state of emergency due to it gas supply concerns.

On Friday, an Aramco distribution station west of Mecca in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was hit by a missile fired by the rebel Houthis. This was the fourth attack in the span of one week. In the newfound spirit of friendship, Israel publicly stated its support of the Saudis after the attacks.

The Ministry

The European Tour is starting! This Saturday, April 2, Mike Golay and Tommy Fretwell will join me for an Awaiting His Return Bible Prophecy Conference in Oxford, UK. That is the beginning of a long week, as I will speak the next morning at Calvary London Westminster, Tuesday night at Calvary Chapel York, and Wednesday evening at Echad Ministries in Hertfordshire. From there I will travel to Italy where I will be speaking in Catania, Rome, and Milan. As always, please check the Behold Israel calendar for all the details.

Is your pastor teaching Bible prophecy? Sadly, for a great majority of churches the answer is no. Last Saturday, Jan Markell, Barry Stagner, Mike Golay, and I joined forces for a Bible Prophecy Roundtable titled “The Silent Pulpit”. In it we talked about the absolute necessity for Christians to not just study Bible prophecy but be taught it by their church leaders. I would encourage you to watch.

Are we on the brink of end times prophecy being fulfilled? Tune in tomorrow, April 1, at 12pm PDT on Facebook and YouTube, when I am a guest of Erick Stakelbeck on The Watchman Newscast. You’ll hear in-depth analysis as we look at today’s headlines and compare them to the words of Scripture.

Thank you so much for your prayers and your continued support of the ministry. Sitting in front of a microphone for four days didn’t do much to help my back. However, God has shown me grace by giving me strength as I begin these very busy next weeks. When He calls us, He always provides for us what is required to do His will. May God bless you all as you continue to seek Him each day.

Psalm 85:10-13
Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.
Yes, the Lord will give what is good;
And our land will yield its increase.
Righteousness will go before Him,
And shall make His footsteps our pathway.
