DID YOU KNOW – PART IV
Did you know God had it all figured out from the very beginning? Find a picture of the Tent of Meeting on the WEB and it will be looked at from above.
Then look at the last chapter of Exodus and see how exactly things had to be placed. What does it form? It is a Cross, (seen from above) but Y’shua actually died on a tree. Crosses were formed but certainly not perfectly – there was no equipment to make them exactly as they are today. The cross was a horrible, cruel invention. Truly a terrible way to die.
After showing Moses the heavenly aspect of it, God anointed Bezalel and Oholiab (Hebrew name = Tent of My Father) with the Holy Spirit, to make the portable Tent of Meeting that contained the Ark of the Covenant in the way back area, which was called the Holy of Holies. A definitive study of the meaning of the temporary animal sacrifices is necessary for Gentiles and Jews to understand Jesus as the final sacrifice.
The book of Exodus relates that at Mount Sinai, Moses was given instructions for a portable tent-like sanctuary that was to be the center of Israel‘s worship (Exodus 25-30). The sanctuary was called both the “Tabernacle” (“dwelling”) and the “Tent of Meeting.” The courtyard of the Tabernacle was 150 feet long and 75 feet wide, and it contained a large wash basin for the priests and an altar for burnt offerings. The Tabernacle itself was 45 feet long and 15 feet wide, and it was divided into two parts. The forecourt contained a lampstand, incense altar, and a table with 12 loaves of bread. The inner court housed the Ark of the Covenant, which contained the tablets on which the Ten Commandments were written. The Israelites took this portable Tent of Meeting with them as they traveled through the wilderness from Mount Sinai to Canaan. After Solomon built the first Temple in Jerusalem, the Tabernacle was no longer used (1 Kings).
Did you know the lampstand, (Menorrah) contained seven candles – Six being the number of man and with Jesus Christ in the middle and higher would be seven or God’s number of perfection, also representing illumination such as via Holy Spirit God, and possibly speaking to the seven churches Jesus wrote to in Revelations.
Did you know the middle candle was called the Servant Candle?
On the table were 12 loaves representing the 12 tribes of Israel, prophetically speaking of the 12 disciples of Jesus.
Did you know the incense altar speaks of the prayers of the priests, prophetically speaking to the prayers of Jesus and the prayers of those who believe in Jesus as the Lamb of God?
The altar and washbasin speak prophetically of the faith to believe in Jesus as the Lamb/Final Sacrifice of God Himself. Unfortunately, this is also called the Outer Court, where many believers stay and do not progress further.
Did you know to enter the next level is to enter the Holy Place? This usually cannot be done without knowledge provided by those listed in Ephesians 4 – Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist. There were five posts outside the Holy Place and these represent those of Ephesians 4, who lead the supplicant into the knowledge to enter.
At this point the Baptism of Holy Spirit God is required, (usually by someone who has experienced this in the past) and Holy Spirit God takes the supplicant past the curtain into the Holy of Holies, wherein is the presence of God Himself. On the other hand, there is nothing to stop an individual from looking at Luke 11:11-13 and asking the Father God in Jesus name to send Holy Spirit God which, of course, would result in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Did you know what a “shadow” in the Old Testament means? It means something that works right then as far as God is concerned, but points to the “real” thing happening in the New Testament.
Hebrews: 9 This is an illustration for the present time, indicating that the gifts and sacrifices being offered were not able to clear the conscience of the worshiper. Ga 3:21; Heb 7:18-19; 10:1,11

DID YOU KNOW? – PART III
Did you know A.D. stands for Anno Domini (in the year of our Lord – Latin) and not After Death? You may read Jesus died at 30.5 years or 31.5 years. The reason for this is whether you count 0 to 1 as a year or not. OR you may read that Jesus died on the cross and rose again when He was 33.5 years, because at that time no one could be a Rabbi (teacher) unless they were thirty years of age.
The date is sorta irrelevant and no-one knows for sure. Even Christmas is off, as far as the first one is concerned. It was set by an individual who did not know the climate of Israel and wanted to cover up a really evil Roman holiday held on Dec. 25th called Saturnalia. It is cold in Israel at that time and there would be no shepherds in the field and no sheep, because there was no green grass. In addition female sheep gave birth only in the spring. But if you thought it was April 1st, you were called a fool, as in April Fool).
Sometimes you will see a book with BCE being used (Before Common ERA) and CE is used instead of AD. CE stands for Common ERA.
Did you know the first verse in the Holy Bible says, “In the Beginning, God, created the Heavens and Earth”? And that the word used for God is plural in the original Hebrew? “Elohim”. WHAT? How can that be? Didn’t Jesus say “Hear O Israel, the Lord, thy God is one”? Yup, He did, but it’s still plural. So what’s the explanation? Look in your dusty Bible at John (the Gospel),Chapter 1 vs. 1.
Did you know John liked to write apocalyptically? – well, that’s easy for you to say. Anyway, in that verse, John used Word with a capital W, to stand for Jesus. So the verse is interpreted as “in the beginning was Jesus, and Jesus was with God and Jesus was God”. That sorta makes the plurality of the first verse in Genesis make sense, doesn’t it?
Then in the second verse of the Holy Bible, we see the first mention of the Holy Spirit of God. So there’s the Holy Trinity right there, all in the first two verses.
Neat huh?
Did you know after that first verse in the Bible that says, In the Beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”, not much more is said about heaven?
I guess we’re supposed to find this stuff out on our own. Well, what about Lucifer/Satan? He was obviously created right? Right. And so the Father God, Jesus Christ God and Holy Spirit God created him. Mistake? Who knows? We can get major headaches trying to figure God out.
I was looking at Ezekiel 28: 12-17 and it sure seemed to me that God told Ezekiel to prophecy to the King of Tyre, and then in those verses it kinda seems like there is a second prophecy and Lucifer is identified. Yah, I know it’s in Isaiah 14 too, and I know there is theological debate about this, but it just makes sense to me.
I guess Lucifer was really what you would call “beautiful”, cause “handsome” just wouldn’t do the job. Anyway, it apparently went to his head and he decided he would be the same as God and everyone would worship him instead. Well, I guess he took a third of the other angels with him when he got kicked out of heaven by God. So where is he now? Down here in the atmosphere of earth. We can’t see him, (cause he’s still spirit) but I guess Jesus could. Or He just knew because He was filled with Holy Spirit God.
Of course Jesus was perfect man and perfect God, and when he was baptized in water by His cousin, John the Baptist at the river Jordan after His statement (“to fulfil all righteousness”), after He was baptized He became a major threat to Lucifer, the third of the angels and “demons”, (you know, the kind Jesus kicked out of people, one’s that made them sick, or deaf and dumb ones).
So Lucifer really went after Jesus when He was in the desert, tired and really, really hungry, after 40 days. Not that Lucifer led Jesus out there. God’s Book is very clear on that point. Holy Spirit God led Him out there. Lucifer quoted some of God’s words to Moses to tempt Jesus. And Jesus answered Satan back from the same words God spoke to Moses. This is interesting in that it shows Jesus was fulfilling the commands of the Father God to His chosen people, which His chosen people were not able to do for forty years in the wilderness. Jesus used Deuteronomy right back to Lucifer in the correct perspective.
Did you know you can find out more about the fall of the evil angels? Look in your Concordance (in the back of your Bible) for the words temptation, Lucifer, Satan, or something like that – some words from whatever you remember happened then.
Did you know about the precious stones that Lucifer had on him in Ezekial 28, which represent the 12 tribes of Israel. He was missing three. Here is the Worship Leader of Heaven — who our Three in One God knew would fall, so he left off three stones from his adornment. These were and see Genesis chap 49: Isaachar- so Lucifer could not ever carry a burden. Isaachar is also associated with being a Redeemer and again Lucifer could not ever be tied to Redemption.
Gad- so Lucifer would never be an over-comer.
Asher- so no royal seed would ever come from Lucifer.
Did you know about the “changing of the guard”. That means a major change to the way of doing things, or just one or more soldiers replacing other soldiers. Well when the Chief Priest of the Jews, from the line of Levi, (like Aaron and Moses), was about to die, he presented his oldest son to the people and said: “this is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased”. That person was then the High Priest.
Do you remember when John the Baptist baptized Jesus and God spoke from heaven and God said “this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased”. (Some dummies thought it thundered). So that was end of the Levite Priests and the beginning of Jesus as King of Kings and Chief Priest of the entire world.
If you don’t have a Concordance, don’t walk, run – to your nearest religious bookstore and get one. The best ones are “Strong’s Concordance”, and now there are the “Strongest Strong’s”, and so on. If you have only used the old King James Version, than you only remember words from there, so get a Concordance that matches the King James. (If you only remember a couple words and want to know where the passage is, that is what a Concordance is for).
Did you know there are some Concordances that have matches for a whole bunch of Bible versions. Bible software for a computer, is about sixteen dollars with the NIV (New International Version) opened. There is free Bible software too, that can be downloaded, such as that at www.e-sword.net. Anyway, most Bible software has a “search” feature, so you can do a search for the words you are looking for. I had Verse Search from Texas for quite awhile, but it is expensive. Right now I am using Power Bible, from www.PowerBible.com – best to get it on a CD. It’s only about ten bucks for seven or eight + bible versions, unless you want to open a version that isn’t already open. It’s about six dollars more to open a version you like.

DID YOU KNOW – Part II
GENERAL THINGS EVEN MINIMAL “CHRISTIANS” MUST KNOW
Did you know, Jesus of Nazareth never said the words: Thee, Thou, Verily”
And He didn’t lisp either. So he never said “ith”.
These words are from the 1611 King James Version of the Holy Bible, which was one of the first English translations. Jesus spoke a language called Aramaic, which is referred to by some as ancient Hebrew and others as an “older” form of Hebrew, but was a language that seemed to come about when Israel was in that Babylon captivity (maybe a combo of Hebrew and Akkadian – now known as Arabic, much in use during the time Jesus literally lived as perfect man on earth. Actually people of that time were multi-lingual and spoke several languages. Jesus also spoke Hebrew and Greek. Where the Aramaic came from seems irrelevant.
Prior to the 1611 King James Version, one man who translated the Bible to English, was tortured and then burnt alive at the stake for his efforts. His name was Tyndale. He was considered a Reformer, had helpers, and actually didn’t quite finish the translation. Tyndale used the “Polyglot Bible” which had the Old Testament in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Latin, and the New Testament in Latin and Greek. There is now a publishing group called Tyndale Publishing, which puts out the Living Bible or now the New Living Bible, as well as a lot of other stuff, like that “Left Behind” fiction series.
Did you know most of the Old Testament was written first in Hebrew and most of the New Testament was written in Greek/Aramaic/Hebrew? The Greek people translated the Old Testament to Greek in about 250 B.C. They called it The Septuagint. They did ask the Hebrews if they could translate it and having just been conquered as a race by the Greeks, of course, the Hebrews said fine.
Then the Bible was translated into Latin which is called “Old Latin”. St. Jerome translated the Old Testament from the Hebrew and the New Testament from Greek and it was called “the Latin Vulgate”. This was the bible for the “Church” until the Reformation time.
John Wycliffe translated the first English version of the Bible, from the Latin Vulgate – so this was a translation “from a translation” and not from Hebrew or Greek because John Wycliffe did not know Hebrew or Greek.
Following the invention of the printing press, many versions were put out. Americans need to understand that all languages were included, – not just English. The version Martin Luther used was, of course, German, since Martin Luther was German.
Did you know for a long time in America there was one choice, the King James Version? This was followed by the Revised Standard, the Amplified, the Good News and many others, including the NIV, (New International Version)
There is a “Read through the Bible in One Year, NLT (new living text) edition”, which is a good one for morning reading, especially if you are not a morning person, because you really don’t have to think, since it is in the language of today. However, in regard to the Gifts of Healings in 1st Cor. 12, it misses the plurality of this Gift of the Holy Spirit and lists it in the singular – Gift of Healing. When there is a double plural in the original Greek, we can assume the plurality is very important. What this means is that Holy Spirit God has gifted some people to act in the Gifts of Healings in certain areas easier then in others. Not that all healings are not Miracles, but some people are better praying for certain needed healings than others. The prayer always, of course, is that Jesus as the Great Physician will do the healing.
It is important to note that there were several kings, all in a row, who called themselves King James and no, I don’t know which one accepted the English version of the Bible as being OK. Look it up on the WEB.
Did you know the copyright on the King James Bible has expired? Maybe that’s why it is quoted all the time. Otherwise it costs money (so much a word usually) to quote from a Bible.
DID YOU KNOW -Part I
DID YOU KNOW?
The following are some thoughts of an older guy looking at this “Christianity” thing and consists of some things found to be true, from this older guy’s subjective perspective. These thoughts are not PC (politically correct), and should alienate maybe 40% of all readers.
To be PC, at this time in America, means to believe that homosexuality is OK, that Islam is a religion and is OK, that Islam means Peace rather than what is really means, “Submit” and it is OK to kill both newly born and unborn baby’s. Those who believe this are sometimes called Leftist Liberals which is a broad term and also includes people who feel that God changes, and this God adapts to the times or that He isn’t really important in the overall scheme of things and we have to be tolerant of Atheist’s, Humanist’s, Rationalist’s and Relativist’s. Let’s all be happy and get along.
In general, the inhabitants of America and most churches of today meet the requirements Paul wrote to Timothy about, in his second letter: “2Ti 3:2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God– 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.”
Essentially, this means a church (form of Godliness) may look good on the outside, but there is no love, no Gifts of Power from Holy Spirit God as noted in 1 Cor. 12,13, and 14. Without love for others, it is pretty much useless to “do church”. Soup kitchen’s, and nursing homes are a much better place to invest. However, with considerable time investment, it is possible to find a place that truly meets the definition of a “true” church. This would include Messianic Jewish places of worship.
Did you know God promised His Chosen Jewish people a Messiah? Jeshua (Jesus) was the Messiah. He came first as a Lamb of God, and will come again for believing Gentiles, and for His Chosen People — as a Lion. So if a Jewish Rabbi is called a Messianic Rabbi that means this Rabbi knows Jeshua came first as a Lamb of God and will come again. Does that mean he is a Christian? Sort of, but Jeshua (Jesus) came first as a Jew and God kinda put a “block” in the Jewish mind until all the Gentiles had “come in” – meaning they realized that Jesus, was God, who redeemed them by dying on the cross for them. And Jesus called the Gentiles “my other flock” in John 10:16.
Did you know that Christ is not Jesus’ last name? It comes from Greek and is used as a title not a name. Actually the words Christ, Mishiach, and Messiah, all mean the same: “Anointed One”. When Jesus comes the second time, (Second Coming) His followers will not be here. He will meet them in a cloud and call them up to Paradise first.
Sound too good? Just take a look at this:
1Co 15:51 Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed–
52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
53 For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.
54 When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”
55 “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

It’s Not ‘Insurrectionists’ Destroying Our Norms.
It’s The New Authoritarian Left

It won’t be installed by CPAC’s favorite 2024 candidate, ridiculous QAnon conspirators, or the destitute MAGA supporters who trashed the U.S. Capitol on January 6. When authoritarianism comes, it will not accompany white supremacists, conspiracy theorists with horned and furry hats, or a frustrated working-class that has seen its dreams evaporate with its jobs.
New authoritarianism will come not through armed insurrection, but as a cure, in a bottle of candy-flavored medicine. It is the noble motive that drugs us, puts us to sleep, while government power over our lives grows. It sneaks in behind a great social purpose. It will be prescribed by the left as they promise to protect us from every evil, real and imagined.
In pharmaceutical trials, the new, one-shot Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, the third anti-viral prophylactic in our arsenal, saw no deaths or hospitalizations. Red states are lifting mask mandates. Could we soon be back to normal, eating in restaurants and visiting our grandmothers?
No, the imperious but concerned souls behind our government’s expansion tell us. Our success is a greater reason to expand their authority. Their lust to control our work and workouts, even in post-pandemic America, has grown with their power. Our plagues, it turns out, are many, requiring not only freedom from the virus but from hate, financial insecurity, and racist mathematics.
The same Democrats who reject the socialist label still elevate freedom from fear and protection from risk as the autonomies we must guarantee above others. So, they justify curtailing our lesser liberties, including the freedom to work, tweet, and disagree with them. They have to take away our freedom to keep us free, they say.
Democrats’ idyllic version of freedom is actually hedonism – the natural result of what happens when an entire movement becomes radically secularized and its thought leaders are economically comfortable. They are increasingly divorced from religion, merit, and the nobility of striving.
The left warned us that Donald Trump and his supporters would destroy the norms that safeguard us. They need the chaos he left behind to peddle their steamrolling statism. But it was not Trump who destroyed the culture and social contracts that kept our nation whole.
The norm that jobs are indispensable is out of business. The norm that businesses are necessary has closed its doors. The left has harnessed the tailwind of this pandemic to accelerate the destruction of the American work ethic and its associated values of discipline, diligence, and self-denial.
They are replacing the culture of earned success with a mindset of victimhood, identity politics, and privileged entitlement. Deferred gratification, hard work, and sacrifice are out of fashion, eclipsed by envy, resentment, and redistribution. They are willing to sacrifice a more vibrant, dynamic, aspirational future in exchange for the stagnation that comes with protection from competition.
The norm that a nation requires borders has been erased from our political cartography. The conviction that police exist to protect us has been displaced by a vision of law enforcement as counselors and socially woke psychologists. The left believes men should play in women’s sports, teachers should not teach, and America was not an inspired idea the world emulated, but is a racist hoax, corrupt from its dawn.
The notion that our flag unites us has been brought down. The left attacks the symbols of America’s founding, condemning George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and refusing to honor the pledge of allegiance, as a prelude to rejecting our nation’s exceptionalism. They replace the story of a New World, founded on the ideals of equality and self-governance, with a history defined by hypocrisy and exploitation.
What is considered the “new normal” under the soft despotism of the left? Colleges should elevate dissent, not suppress it. There are two biological sexes. We no longer have God-given rights as individuals but as members of oppressed groups celebrating victimized identities.
Our elected leaders can erase a million jobs to raise the paychecks of other workers. We are defined by the color of our skin, not by the content of our character. Parents cannot choose what they read to their children and freedom does not mean you have the right to make decisions nor the responsibility to live with the consequences.
Today’s authoritarian left has a plan to protect us from the future: They will prevent the future from happening. Socialist democracies that hide from tomorrow’s perils and promises always become failed authoritarian states as a result.
But to fully unmoor us from our reliance on fundamental, uniting, and foundational truths, our woke overseers must convince us that the norms that have long held us together are a modern-day virus. Only then will we take our medicine and concede that freedom from freedom is the norm we most value.

My Democrat Friends are Getting Very Embarrassed
The “new normal” includes restricted energy exploration and cancellation of the Keystone XL pipeline. This has caused a loss of well-paying union jobs, damaged relations with Canada, and triggered skyrocketing gasoline prices. It also threatens to return us to dependence on the most unstable region in the world. To those who would like us to leave the Middle East to resolve its own problems — we can’t now.
We’ve implemented more “humane” immigration policies, creating a flood of illegal immigrants across the border — wearing “Biden” t-shirts. Our humane policy has given us men, women, and children sacrificing their lives pursuing the dream promised them by the Democrats. Thankfully, we’re no longer keeping illegal immigrant children in cages. Now we’re keeping them in Conex boxes. I guess we can feel good about that.
Those arriving illegal immigrants are putting more pressure on a struggling job market, decimated by COVID lockdowns. Rather than help struggling small businesses, the Democrats seek to impose more economic distress with a $15-per-hour minimum wage. As small businesses close their doors, the dreams of their owners are dashed, and entry level job opportunities disappear forever.
Since lunch-bucket Joe’s inauguration, the government has moved beyond its charter to ensure the rights, security, and safety of the citizens. Now it’s engaged in social engineering. Transsexuals will now be welcomed into the military. Given that these folks require ongoing hormone therapy, a few minor changes to the DoD logistics infrastructure will be needed. It’s a small price to pay to check our “wokeness” box. Should any of our transsexual soldiers be captured, I’m sure our enemies will continue their therapy. They need their “wokeness” boxes checked too.
President Asterisk has also signed an executive order ensuring that transgender people may use whatever facilities they prefer. We’ll need to be on the alert for gender-fluid pedophiles seeking to spend quality time in bathrooms with young girls. But, that’s a very small societal cost to show the necessary respect to a perfectly normal woman-with-a-penis, who wishes to shower with women-with-vaginas at the gym.
The Democrats have also arranged to reward blue states for disastrous fiscal decisions. It seems that those states which imposed the most severe COVID lockdowns (New York, California, Michigan, and etc.) have suffered significant loss of tax revenue. Who could have seen that coming? The most recent COVID relief bill includes a $350B bailout for those states and municipalities which suffered tax loses during the lockdown. The citizens from the red states who stayed on the job are going to bail out the blue states that took the year off. San Fran Nan and Chucky Schumer owe a great big “thank you” to all the farmers, merchants, tradesmen, and truckers who have agreed to help them out. I’m sure they’ll respond with, “You’re welcome. It was the neighborly thing to do.”
The “new normal” also includes a permanent military presence in Washington D.C. You can rest assured that our representatives are doing the “people’s work” when they need a contingent of heavily armed soldiers to protect them from the people. My friends who voted Democrat unwittingly facilitated the transformation of Washington D.C. into Pyongyang, North Korea.
Consistent with our transformation into the North Korea of the west, censorship and cancel culture are now favored by our ruling class. Expression of dissenting views will get one dropped from social media sites. If you’re an outspoken conservative who runs a factory, your products will be boycotted. Educators who express dissenting views will be forced out of their jobs. Freedom of speech is becoming freedom of approved-speech. Thankfully, the snowflakes among us need no longer endure those nasty Trump tweets.
But what really embarrasses my friends is that after they voted for a return to political harmony, the turmoil is greater than ever. The Democrats called for unity, then slapped Trump’s supporters in the face by impeaching Trump two weeks before he was to leave office. They’ve accused any Republican who questioned the election result of inciting insurrection. The Democrats even considered not seating any Republican congressmen who questioned election integrity. Some have even spoken publicly of the need for “truth commissions” and reeducation of MAGA supporters. There’s nothing creepy about that, is there?
It seems that when the Democrats asked for unity, they were actually demanding obedience. If there were only some means to demonstrate our obedience to our new masters. How about we all wear facial coverings to demonstrate our fealty? There’s a word that describes order through forced obedience — tyranny.
My friends are belatedly realizing that the turmoil was not created by Donald Trump. It was manufactured by the Democrats, simply to win an election. The Democrats embraced socialists and anarchists (even though they never play well together) to create the turmoil, and now they can’t turn it off. Radical elements of the left are political vampires. Once invited in, it’s not so easy to get them to leave. The Democrats are stuck with the radicals, even though the voters aren’t.
But I don’t get angry. As my friends complain, I keep reminding them that this is what they asked for. They’re beginning to realize they helped create this mess and they’re feeling a bit like that guy that gave the Nigerian prince $1,000 — embarrassed! But here’s the thing about embarrassment — it’s the embryonic stage of anger. I estimate gestation to require about 19 months. Angry and motivated voters will be fully mature, just in time for the midterm elections.

House Passes Democrat Bill Criminalizing Private Gun Sales
The U.S. House of Representatives passed universal background check gun control Thursday, criminalizing private gun sales conducted apart from an FBI background check.

The legislation, H.R. 8, sponsored by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), passed by a vote of 227 to 203.
H.R. 8 would expand retail point-of-sale background checks so as to cover private points-of-sale. This will criminalize an individual who sells a 5-shot revolver to a lifelong neighbor, unless that neighbor first undergoes a National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) check, conducted by the FBI.
On Wednesday, bill sponsor Thompson claimed, without evidence, his bill is supported by “90 percent of the American [people].”
H.R. 8 was passed by the House in early 2019 as well, but never taken up by the Republican-controlled Senate. Democrat gains in the current Senate suggest the legislation will be discussed this time around.
