In Esther, what happened?  They humbled themselves greatly in fasting and plea;  And God stepped in to foil the plan of the enemy, that stood against the will of God and the people of God.

Rarely will we get the break-through if we are not willing to do something of the breakthrough in our own lives – breaking through our own pride.  Humility results in God lifting us up.  If we think we can do it on our own, will He oppose us?  There are times He can: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”  James 4:6 niv

In Esther, the Jews quickly bowed low in fasting and plea before God. The way looked dire & impossible. But God foiled the plan of the enemy.

One physical benefit of fasting:  It trains our flesh to submit to God… submission to God is called obedience.

God opposes the proud but gives what to the humble?  His way is unseen among the world, but we are not of the world.  We are His, and He calls us to walk differently.  If we think we can do it on our own, we are not in a place to receive the greater gifts of God.

And he said: “I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.  Mt. 18:3 niv

The bread of life is better than the bread of man. Let’s seek the Bread of life and His power in our nation, and families.

Perseverance is the key to breaking strongholds that are not broke yet – in our nation and families.

Fasting & prayer = do we want the power that comes with it?
Then it’s going to take some self-sacrifice.

Fast and pray…  It will be worth it.  (Mt. 6:6,18)

And His rewards are good.
